Why Waves Matter

When you think of a wave, you probably picture ocean swells crashing against the shore. But waves are an integral part of our lives.

As a veterinary neurologist, rehabilitation therapist, acupuncturist and university science instructor my work  is built on a single, powerful principle: your pet's body communicates, moves, senses pain and heals through waves.

Every moment of your pet's day is directed by different types of waves

The basis of everything we do:  movement, learning new skills and behaviors, and even sensing pain or thirst

  • Neurons, the cells that make up the nervous system, communicate with each other and the rest of the body using electrochemical waves called action potentials.

  • When your dog decides to run or catch a ball their brain sends a wave of electrochemical signals down to the spinal cord and nerves directing the muscles to contract.

  • The pain your pet feels from an injury is sent to the brain through electrochemical waves.

    • Fun Fact: One theory behind acupuncture is that it can  help block this pain signal from going to the brain.

  • When they look at you, they see you via photons—tiny packets of energy that behave like waves (and particles!) to bring the world into view.

  • A Photon Factory: Class IV Laser Therapy

Healing relies on energy, my practice utilizes a Class IV Laser—which is essentially a photon factory.

[Organized Photon Stream] ───> [Deep Tissue Penetration] ───> [Accelerated Cellular Repair]

Instead of scattering light like a standard light bulb, this laser produces a highly synchronized, and concentrated beam of  photons that penetrate deep into your pet's tissues.

  • Promotes natural healing at a cellular level.

  • Reduces pain and swelling

  • Accelerates healing

  • Harnessing the physical power of fluid motion to aid your pet's healing process.

  • The natural buoyancy, gentle resistance, and hydrostatic pressure of water waves support weak joints, soothe sore tissues, and rebuild muscle strength safely and comfortably.

  • Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine (TCVM) has mapped the body’s energy  pathways for centuries, called channels or meridians.   This is the network through which Qi (vital energy) and blood circulate throughout the body.

  • Modern neuroscience shows us that acupuncture directly stimulates those electrochemical waves (action potentials) to restore balance and relieve pain.
